About our Club

The Rotary Club of Townsville Sunrise was Chartered on 24 June 1990 and was founded for the purpose of fellowship and community service. With a membership over over 90, it's members are leaders in the community who, through Rotary, serve the community by working to the benefit of charitable organizations, funding scholarships and generally promoting good citizenship.

The Rotary Club of Townsville Sunrise is part of Rotary District 9550 and Rotary International.

The Rotary Club of Townsville Sunrise meets at the Townsville RSL Club on Charters Towers Rd, Hermit Park each Friday at 06.30 for 7.00 am.

The Rotary Club of Townsville Sunrise is committed to community youth and dedicates much of its energy to help local youth develop into responsible citizens that contribute to the community. The Club is also very active in assisting the General Community by providing much needed funds.

To achieve this aim, our Club conducts a number of fundraising activities throughout the year.

Annual Art Union - Primary fund-raiser. Funds generated support specific charities as decided by the new board each year.

Dodgy Brothers Catering - Catering for one off events by selected qualified members raise funds and enable fellowship.

Other Activities

Meals on Wheels - Club members assist with delivering meals to the elderly and infirm on a weekly basis .

RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) - A select group of students with leadership qualities attend camp RYLA in the Townsville area to hone and enhance leadership skills.
